Micki's Pages

Welcome to my site!  I am a stay at home mom to five beautiful children.  Before becoming a mother, I worked as a kindergarten teacher for my local school district.  I love to sew, read and I dabble in knitting, and have discovered the joy of smocking. To see what I've been up to lately, please visit me at http://fairworthy.blogspot.com. If you have a question, please e-mail me at trentmicki1993 "at" yahoo "dot" com.

Some of my favorite sites:

Fabric and Sewing sites:

Fabric.com

One of the nicest and most reasonable places to shop for fabric on-line.  Sign up for their mailing list to get in early on some great deals.  They carry several top name fabrics for a fraction of the cost of your local fabric store.

Sewbaby

Great source for all sorts of cute children and baby patterns, as well as fabrics and notions.

Zoodads

One of my favorites for children's fabric.  Good prices and such a cute and wide selection.  She carries a lot of fabrics used by Oshkosh, etc.

The Snap Source

Tired of trying to put in the Dritz snaps from your local fabric store only to find out they won't stay put?  That's because the prongs are too short!  The Snap Source sells the industrial type of metal snaps with extra long prongs that stay put!  They carry lots of colors and sizes for the perfect snap finish.

Cloth Diaper Sites:

Sew Your Own Diapers

Everything you could possibly want to know about making your own diapers!

Make your Own Fuzzi Bunz

You love this diaper, but want to make your own?  Mona has great directions!!!!

Make-it-Snappy

Jennifer is the owner of Sweetharts and now is selling snap presses and plastic snaps for the diaper sewer.  I bought mine from her and love it.  Plus you can get dies that apply your snap source snaps.  Okay, so it's a little pricey.  Put away $5 a week and you'll have enough for a press, dies and snaps in no time.  That's what I did (plus some birthday money) and it was the best purchase I made and I just sew for myself.

The One Stop Diaper Shop

The name says it all.  Materials, snaps, snap presses.  Anything you need to make your own cloth diapers.  Isn't time you stopped bugging those ladies at Jo Anns and go to the place that knows what you're talking about?

Janelle's PULs

Wow, what a selection of PUL!  Great for those diaper covers and the prices are great.  Visit, you'll be glad you did.

PooPockets!

Kimi is the owner of New conceptions and the creator of the Poopocket.  She is incredibly talented and so nice to deal with.  Here are some samples of things I have made from her patterns.

This is a great one-size fits most diaper pattern.  Easy, easy, easy!!!!  Here's a picture of some that I have made:

Kimi also has a pattern for a side snapping diaper that is now my favorite.  Someday I hope to get pictures up.  These diapers come in different sizes.

Kimi has designed two cover patterns that are now available on her site.  Here is the first one I made and it was so easy and I'm pleased on how it turned out!  I have made several since this one and they are great!

Kimi also has some patterns for baby clothes that are great.  I  don't have pictures of my latest baby outfits that I made from her Baby Essentials pattern (I did, but they got lost-don't ask!) but I can tell you they were easy to put together and so cute.  The hat pattern alone is worth the price of the pattern.
